Thanksgiving and Welsh Hymns featured in Nov. 23 concert

On Sunday, November 23, at 4:30 p.m. at Neffsville Mennonite Church, Glenn Lehman will lead a hymn concert of popular hymns from the Welsh and Thanksgiving themes of a variety of styles.

The hymns will include: “We Gather Together,” ”We plow the fields,” “Sing to the Lord of harvest,” “I thank you, Jesus,” “Immortal, invisible God,” “Now thank we all our God,” “Many and great, O God” (Native American hymn), and “God of grace and God of glory.”

“Hymns deserve the Carnegie Hall, top-billing treatment we give them in this concert series,” said Lehman “This is music to delight the heart and the head and body. The first-class musicians up front turn the whole crowd into a choir.”

The concert, the third in a series, attracts avid singers. The rich congregational singing will be assisted by the Concert Vocal Ensemble of selected voices, by the brass quintet, Bravura Brass, and organ. Event Manager is Margaret High. Glenn Lehman is director of Harmonies Workshop, and organist at Neffsville. All are invited.

Suggested $5 donation at the door.
